Tracking Specialist

Job Summary:

The Tracking Specialist is primarily responsible for the support, coordination and tracking of shipments in our internal tracking system. The position serves as the primary resource in maintaining our database on shipments currently in transit. This includes interacting with our carriers, tracking and tracing, and proactively notifying all involved parties of pertinent information. This position also provides support for the Client Services Department on a daily basis.

 

Essential job Functions: 

  • Resolve missed pick-up shipments
  • Research late and possibly late shipments, providing feedback and updates
  • Assist in claims research, contacting clients and carriers to resolve issues relating to damaged or lost freight
  • Complete the daily filters in ViewPoint and update all affected parties
  • Manage both inbound and outbound telephone calls professionally, efficiently and with excellent professional skills
  • Understand and appropriately use predefined company processes and transportation systems

Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary: 

The Logistics Coordinator’s primary function is to assist in developing and managing the in-house operations and brokerage at Translogistics Inc.  The position includes building carrier relationships, finding daily capacity through technology such as carrier portals, personal relationships, and load boards, pricing shipments competitively in the marketplace to secure customer orders, and monitoring loads from inception until delivery.   It also includes establishing and maintaining professional relationships with assigned clients on behalf of the company by taking personal and complete responsibility and ownership for each client contact.  The employee must have competence in the transportation industry, marketplace, and general logistics operations.  The position requires excellent understanding of the transportation/trucking industry along with a high level of technology skills as well as tact, sensitivity, professionalism and enthusiasm to work in a fast pace work environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • This position will primarily be responsible for the company financial decisions relating to their assigned accounts, profit and loss responsibility, sales, revenue and relationship development, and account growth within a geographical area
  • Schedule and execute an array of transportation services in accordance with legal and customer requirements including cargo characteristics, service options, available least cost rates, transit time, and loading and offloading requirements
  • Provide exceptional client service and interaction including issue resolution, communication, intermediary functions, logistics representation, and shipment responsibility management
  • Support assigned accounts not only during regular business hours but as their needs develop and require attention
  • Reliably track and expedite progress of specialized shipments and perform additional activities required to meet customers’ deadlines and expectations  
  • Build relationships with customers to ensure continued operational improvements
  • Provide accurate and timely price quotes to customers, as requested, determine the company’s margin and profitability
  • Pre-screen contract carriers from incoming applicant database for contract eligibility based upon DOT standards and company policy
  • Continuously develop contract carrier base operation to meet productivity demands
  • Find qualified carriers and pursue costs for best routing and pricing for customer quotes
  • Assist team members with the daily management of shared operational inboxes
  • Track all managed and booked shipments, alerting clients of all transit updates
  • Manage incoming client telephone calls professionally, efficiently and with excellent professional skills within various call queues as well as client direct
  • Process customer orders accurately and timely

Mode Optimization Specialist Assistant

Job Summary:

To assist The Mode Optimization Specialist in evaluating Volume shipments that fall between LTL and Full Truckload and determine best way to transport based on space needed and customer requirements. This would include possible volumes, where LTL rates still apply but a better rate may be available, and volumes, where LTL rates do not apply. These shipments will come from both Managed and Transactional Customers.

 

Essential Job Functions- To assist Mode Optimization Specialist as he or she :

  • Review Shipments that are between 5 Pallets / 10 Linear Feet / 10,000#s and 15 Pallets / 28 Linear Feet / 24,000#s
  • Review rate requests from both Transactional and Managed customers
  • Make sure we have all details for the shipment before we begin sending for quotes
    • # of pallets, dimensions
    • weight
    • commodity
    • delivery appointments
    • time requirements – when is it needed in house
    • special services
    • value of product
  • Determine if LTL, Volume, Truckload, and/ or Intermodal is the best way to move the shipment based on information
  • Enter shipment details in VP (if not already entered)
  • Send Volume Quote requests to the appropriate distribution list based on where the freight is moving from and to
  • Enter information on Carrier Websites for those carriers that do not respond to email quote requests
  • Gather rate quotes as they are received to compare rates
  • Review rate quotes from Carriers to make sure they are accurate comparing to the information sent to carrier
  • Compare best Volume rate with TL or Intermodal rates to make sure Volume is the best way to move
  • For Managed Customers
    • Collaborate with Director of Ops to make sure margin is right
    • Enter volume rate into VP as an additional option
  • For Transactional Customers
    • Collaborate with Director of Ops to determine best margin to use to win the shipment
    • Enter volume rate into VP as an additional option
    • Communicate the final rate to customer or TLI Sales Executive
    • Seek feedback and use all info to determine future margins
  • Tender the shipment to the carrier or have Scheduling call if there are any questions as to the carrier being able to handle
  • Send Load Tender to the carriers that are not contracted with TLI
  • Send BOL and Pallet Labels(optional) to the shipper. If sending the customer can include Quote Form with freight charges
  • Upload Rate Quote and Tender images for each Volume Shipment

Inside Sales

Job Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for securing new business.  This candidate is a results-driven worker, has a strong sense of self-worth, is confident, self-rewarding, and has a high sense of urgency due to being empathetic. A people person, this candidate will work well with other departments and prospective clients. This candidate is smart and has a hunger to learn and become a logistics expert and will be inquiring about jargon and industry updates often. Being an active learner, this inside sales representative is perceptive and will be able to learn about prospects: businesses, production lines, products, supply chain processes, and understand the importance of his/her influence on other supply chains.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Independently identifying and generating new sales opportunities
  • Establish and maintain executive relationships to secure business appointments and referral s

  • Responsible for “dialing for dollars” (a minimum of 55 calls a day) contacting & establishing long-term relationships with shippers and soliciting load r
